transfering through Heathrow

I am flying into Heathrow from the US and then going on to Warsaw. I know I don't have to go through customs, but do I have to do anything special or just go find the outgoing gate? Thanks for your help.

2 things -- 1) You will have to clear security at Heathrow, and 2) you probably need to change terminals.

How long do you have for the transfer, and what airline(s) are you flying?

Flying BA for all flights. I have 2hrs and 20 minutes at HRW on my way to Warsaw and 1 hour and 30 minutes at HRW on my way back to the US.

Last time, I flew to Warsaw through Amsterdam and I had to go to a special desk before I went on to the outbound gate...a transit desk or something like that. Is that the way it works at Heathrow?

Thanks for any help and/or suggestions to make this go smoothly.

Assuming your luggage is checked through all you need to do is follow the signs for Flight Connections Centre.

You WILL go through security, you WILL have to conform to the ONE bag rule in both directions

Your transfer BTW is probably T4 to T1 outwards and the reverse on the return - the latter is a bit tight on time so no dawdling until you are in the right terminal

Where does your flight to Heathrow originate? Some transatlantic flights go to/from Terminal 1, so that would make connecting even easier.

just so you don't get things mixed up - Heathrow is LHR (not HRW)

Thanks everyone. I arrive and leave out of terminal 1 in LHR (thanks)so I think I will be okay, looking for the flight connection center.

Is the one bag rule for the carry-on only? My confirmation says the baggage allownace is 2 pieces per person. So can I have one carry on and two checked?

The one bag is for carry on. This means you cannot carry an extra purse, handbag, laptop etc.
