Transfer time in Rome Termini
We are booking tickets in advance for travel from Civitavecchia to Termini to Florence because we want reserved seats & a fast train. Is 30 minutes enough time to transfer in Termini from the train arriving from Civitavecchia to the platform for the ES to Florence? Thanks for your help.

Yes if the train from Civit is not too late
i was on it recently and it was about 20 mins late getting into to Termini as trains leave twice an hour Termini-florence why not build an hour in and then go to some nice cafes in the station if you do have time to while away the huge overhead board in Termini shows all the trains leaving from the many many different platforms |
Come to think of it the trains from Civitavecchia to Termini may come in at a track that is quite a walk from the main front part of Termini station
seems so as i recall so makes it a longer change. |
Listen to PalenQ's second piece of advice: this is NOT enough time. The local commuter trains are on different platforms and the walking time alone would make me sweat with anxiety, never mind the potential lateness of commuter trains (like C to Termini).

Thanks for your advice. We will definitely not cut it as close as a half an hour. Glad I hadn't booked as yet. luke

NO platform at Termini is a 30-minute walk from the farthest other one but that assumes the arriving train is on time.

The one i recollect Civit-- trains come in at however is a long walk - perhaps 10 minutes with luggage and then finding the right platform and then to the train.
it's not like coming into say track 5 in the main part of Termini and going to nearby track or platform 8 if i am right in my recollection (and not sure) the transfer may take more time than you'd think |
