transfer Naples train station to Positano
 

What is the best way to get from the Naples Train Station to Positano? I can't arrange a car in advance because I don't know exactly which train I'm taking...it will be a spur of the moment kind of thing...is there a way to take some kind of public transportation?

From Napoli Centrale, downstairs to the Circumvesuviana (light rail) to end of the line in Sorrento.
From Sorrento SITA bus to Positano.

Most car service drivers have cell phones and will work with you about meeting your train. They deal with this all the time.

Benevenuto Limousines is the company I used and they were very reliable, with English speakers and cell phones. I also needed to make less-than-precise advance arrangements with them, and they were fine with that.

Best to go one more city -- Salerno and take SITA bus along Amalfi Coast.
