Gpanda-
I haven't done the train before, but I don't think it is a special "Lufthansa" train. I think Lufthansa sold you a regular German Rail ticket (Die Bahn) for your 2nd leg of your trip. At the Frankfrut airport, there are 2 train stations- 1 for Regional Bahn and 1 for long distance trains. I believe you should go to the long distance station. In terms of how you get your train ticket, I assume the Lufthansa ticket agents will tell you. And don't worry, there are lots of English-speaking people at the Frankfurt airport who can help you. |
I agree. There is no "lufthansa" train. you need to take the train from the airport to Frankfurt Bahnhof and then get your train to Saarbruecken.

I made it. The Lufthansa flight was on Deutsch Bahn. I had read the instructions from Frommers about taking commuter train to the main train station. This was entirely wrong. There is a very pleasant Sevice Desk in the train station immediately below the airport. A nice walk, but not gruesome. The attendant spoke English and told me that the train tom Saarbruecken was on Track 3 in the regional portion of the train station. Smooth as silk. Thanks for your help.
