Transfer from Heathrow to Luton Airport (LTN)
 

We are flying BA into London, scheduled to land at 12:35 pm on Thursday, 8/8/2013. There is a flight out of Luton to Ljubljana, Slovenia at 3:55 pm we would like to catch. Is that a possible connection to make or are we dreaming?

In my opinion you're dreaming. You need to allow time to clear immigration and customs at Heathrow travel either by coach (if there is one) or train, train would mean traveling into vcentral London to I think it's Kig's Cross or St Pancras the journey from there to Luton and from the station to check in and be there at least two hours, well one and half hours before check in closes. In that time you might just have left Heathrow.

Maybe an hour to get out of Heathrow, an hour on the bus?? - it's possible if all goes smoothly. You'll be looking at your watch the whole time though...

Not really doable.

Coach is the only way that makes sense. If you could catch the 2:05PM Nat'l Express Coach you would arrive at Luton about 3:15 (if there is no traffic tie-up.) Most of the budget airlines have strict check in requirements and this isn't long enough.

Going via central London wouldn't work since first you'd have to train to Paddington, then tube or taxi to St Pancras, train to Luton Parkway and shuttle bus to the airport.

If there is no later flight, I'd stay the night either in central London or near Luton and fly out the next morning.

Just saw sofarsofgood's post - an hour for getting off the aircraft, walking to arrivals, Immigration, baggage retrieval and walking to the coach station is VERY optimistic IMO.

Even catching the 2:05 would be a stretch.

That's the Wizzair flight and the Easyjet flight is earlier in the day and leaves from a different airport. Is the cost difference worth (and not be wiped out by) an overnight stay?
