Transfer from Fiumicino Airport to Civitavechhia Port
The cruise ship leaves Civitavecchia on October 4 at 1800. I will arrive Fiumicino Airport at 1305 on October 4. What is the best transportation to take to reach the port on time (price- and time-wise). If train, please provide direction.

What cruise line are you using and did you buy a transfer to the Port?. Is about two hours to Civitavecchia. Avoid taking a cab, it could be very expensive. Good Luck.

It'll be about 14:00 by the time you clear passport control, get your baggage etc., and too short, in my opinion, to risk a complicated train-train-taxi combo to your ship.
The alternative will not be cheap, but try www.romeshuttlelimousine.com for a transfer. |
Regional trains from Rome to Civitavecchia take about one hour but to get one you'd either have to take a cab or the rail link from the airport into the city itself.
Once you arrived at the railroad station in Civitavecchia you would need to take a cab to where the ship is actually docked. The port entrance is only a ten minute walk from the train station but your ship will almost undoubtedly be docked further on. If you had more time between arrival in Rome and the ship's departure I would say the train might work. But in this case, i would either contact the cruise line re the possibility of a transfer directly to the ship or look for a transfer on my own as Zerlina has suggested. |
Hi F,
>The cruise ship leaves Civitavecchia on October 4 at 1800. I will arrive Fiumicino Airport at 1305 on October 4. It's about a 1 hr drive. If you go by train from FCO to Rome to C, and a cab to the docks, it will take about 1:45 - 2:30 hr depending on when you get your luggage and clear passport control.
