Trains to Venice

Is it possible to get a train from either Como or Bellagio to Venice? How much and how long is the trip?

If I read the schedule right, it is about 4 hours. Change as you might expect in Milano Centrale.

Go to:

Note that there is an English version available (upper left corner) - though you will need to use the Italian spelling for the city names.

Looks like you have a number of choices, however, if at all possible be sure to go to Venezia Santa Lucia not Venezia Mestre. If you go to Mestre you will have to catch another train into Santa Lucia. Not a problem from a schedule standpoint, trains are frequent, but it adds an expense and a bag drag.

Changing trains at Mestre doesn't add "an expense". If you have a ticket to Venezia Santa Lucia, it doesn't matter whether you get a through train or have to change at Mestre: the fare is based on the distance so will be the same.

There is no train service from Bellagio. You can take the ferry over to Varenna (about 15-20 minutes) and the train from Varenna to Milan, then switch to a train to Venice. Or you can take the hydrofoil from Bellagio to Como. From Como, take a train to Milan and change for Venice.
