Trains to Glasgow

I am going to take the train from London to Glasgow. Can anyone tell me how long this may take and how much it will cost one way for two people. Thanks!!

Exactly 5 hours on the day trains from London Euston using Virgin Trains on the West Coast Mainline. You can also go from London King's Cross via GNER on the East Coast Mainline with a change in Edinburgh, but that will take another 30 minutes or so.

Train fares vary greatly in the UK, depending on how far you can book ahead.

One way may cost 26.50GBP advanced (or even lower), but fullfare is 120GBP.

Anything from £15.70 to £120 per person depending on when you book, route taken and class of travel. Takes around 5h15m on average except on Sundays whn it can take longer. You could also consider the sleeper train which offers bargain berths from £19

GNER did not require a change in Edinburgh when we took it this summer.

Some GNER trains go from London Kings Cross to Glasgow via Edinburgh, with no need to change, but it's still quicker from Euston. The sleeper is comfortable, often cheap, and will maximise your time in London and Glasgow.
