Trains from Paris to Avignon

Will be taking a train from Paris to Avignon on Sept 24. Do I need to reserve in advance or can I just get ticket at train station.

Hi D,

You can get reduced fares if you buy online now.

Trains from Paris to Avignon are TGVs and seats must be booked. They're often full when they leave Paris, so it is a good idea to book in advance.

Hello,

How long is the train ride from Paris to Avignon? Would you recommend an overnight stay in Avignon?

It's about a 3-hour trip on the TGV from Paris to Avignon.

Ah 3 hours...would anyone recommend Avignon over Loire Valley? I believe Loire Valley is closer but I'm not sure what to expect other than castles in Loire. If anyone has advice on what to do in both towns, I would appreciate it.
Thanks
