Trains from either Salzburg or Klagenfurt to BadGASTEIN
Has anyone any info on the logistics of getting the train from either of these airports to Badgastein? I understand it takes about 90 mins but I cannot find out how much the journey costs. Any info greatfully received - many thanks

Fares are one-way.
Try this way.
Open the www.oebb.at site.
Type origin and destination of your journey (vom... nach...).
Choose your favorite train (likely any IC or EC) and click "Ticket online".
In a new page, in german, choose "On-line Ticket Plus" and, then, just the number of travellers at the "Anzahl der Personen" option.
Click "weiter"
Fares data may be read, now, under the Ticketdaten section.

If the services are frequent I suspect you don't need to book these tickets in advance..just buy the tickets when you arrive (ordering on line you'll have to pick them up anyway so very little, if any, time will be saved).

Even for Christmas time travel? I'm traveling to Bad Gastein from Budapest (via Salzburg) on Dec 21st and coming back on Dec 25th and I'm worried Christmas time trains will be hard to catch - should I get reservations in advance?
