Trains from CDG Airport to Normandy Area

My wife and I will be in France in APRIL, flying into CDG around 6 a.m. We are thinking of traveling immediately to the Normandy area to spend two nights, then traveling back to Paris for the remainder of our two week trip. I haven't yet been very successful in pinning down exactly what train transport is available. Does anyone out there know if our plan is even feasible? Are the trains that run directly from the airport area to the Normandy area, or will we have to travel to another station? Would also appreciate any tips on the best sites to decipher train schedules to and from various places in France.

Thank you all out there for the wonderful information posted here. It's a genuine pleasure to spend time here learning from other travelers' experiences.

You must go into Paris, go to Gare St. Lazare and take the train from there to Rouen, Caen, Bayeux, etc.

I use www.voyages-sncf.com

Happy planning, and have a good trip!

No, you can't go from CDG directly to Normandy but must go into Paris.

Use www.voyages-sncf.for train travel in France.

Thank you both for that information. would you recommend a taxi or train from CDG to Gate St. Lazare?

I almost always take a taxi upon arrival. Others will argue for taking the Roissy Bus, Air France shuttle, private shuttle, or RER.
