Trains from Berlin to Prague

I'm trying to find out how easy it is to get a train from Berlin to Prague. Does anyone have any advice for me. Does anyone know how long of a trip it is and is it very expensive?? thanks!

I can answer some of your question.
By so doing, I hope it keeps your question near the top and someone with a better answer will see it and respond.
Trains leave the Berlin Ostbahnhof at 5:41, 7:41, and 9:41. Then, again, at 13:41 and 15:41. The last 4 schedules require no change of trains and take 5 hours and 7 minutes.
The trains can be boarded also at the Berlin Zoo station. There are other trains, but the times are not as much in the middle part of the day.
You can check the schedules yourself at this place:
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/detect.exe/bin/query.exe/d
There is an English version.
The price is not given.

My guess, and it is a guess, is that the price, 2nd class, one way, will be over 75 euros because there is an extra charge for international trains.

If someone really knows, I would be interested in seeing how close my guess actually is.
Maybe Ben H. will see this and tell us how much it costs.
Go to raileurope.com or eurail.com , you can get fares and schedules.
Good luck

Dear Ms Brown,

My trouble is that the figures in the Thomas Cook European Timetable for
January are sound for west Europe, but doubtful for central and east Europe. They tend to set fares too high. So, for what it's worth, Berlin to Prague second class single is said in that book to be 55 euros, but my be less.

Raileurope certainly, and Eurail probably, show fares about 30 percent above the fares charged in Europe.

Ben Haines, London

Ben is right on the money when she says that Rail Europe will charge you more.
I have figured up some fares from Paris where the difference in cost between the French natonal rail system, the SNCF were 80% than the exact same ticket bought through Rail Europe.
Rail Europe adds no value that I can see for the knowledgeable consumer.
Only those who are uninformed or desperate will pay Rail Europe prices.
