Trains from Amsterdam to Brussels?

Hi,
Are there any trains running from Amsterdam to Brussels/Brugges? Costs and time?

Please kindly provide us a website, if known.

thanks!

Try:

www.ns.nl (find the English button)
or
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/e (Germany site but excellent and user-friendly; for routes/times)

Note: although Thalys high-speed runs this route, it is not a high-speed track at this time. You can take a regional train just as well, most likely for less $.

Trains between the 2 cities run every 1 hour. Don't now the exact cost but it's in the neighborhood of $30-40 each way in 2nd class, maybe $50-60 for 1st class. The journey takes about 2 3/4 hours.

You may change in Antwerpen-Berchem for trains to Bruges, coming either from Brussels or Amsterdam. The trip from Amsterdam to Bruges is close to 4 hours; from Brussels to Bruges is almost an hour.

Last year the Super Dagretour (day round trip) was e34 round trip. You must leave after 9am, M-F, but it's not available in July or August.

Use www.ns.nl, english and international links for schedules. Specify no for the high speed train because the regular international express gets you to Brussels in the same time, plus or minus a few minutes. Also the TGV does not stop at Centraal in Brussels, only at Zuid/Midi and you probably want to be at Centraal.

Huh? Take the Thalys- 3 hours non-stop, no train changes, reservatons required- see their website-end of story!

Correction: there are a few stops- but no train changes.

Trains from Amsterdam to Brussels Centraal or Amsterdam to Brugge will take the same time using TGV or International Express. You pay more on TGV. The TGV has service every 2 hours while the regular train has more frequent service, at least one every hour. Brugge is another 1 hour and more from Brussels so if Brugge is your target do not go to Brussels. Make the change in Antwerp. If you are returning early to Amsterdam stop off in Antwerp (there are 2 stations in Antwerp) and have a walkaround and dinner. It is more interesting and lively than Brussels. Mussels and Belgian beer make a great dinner.
