Train vs. plane
Suggestions on an economical way to get from Munich Germany to Copenhagen Denmark would be most appreciated. I hope to have 5 days from my summer intern "job" to visit friends in Southern Sweden. I plan to head over to Malmo from Copenhagen on the train and meet my friends there.

About 11 hours by train, from 39 Euros if booked early enough. You can travel overnight for about 43 Euros (booked early!) in about 15 hours
www.bahn.com Flying is about 76 Euros one way, currently, as the best July price on Air Berlin (4 to 7 hours with connection), and 107 Euros, non-stop (1:35) on Scandinavian. |
Do don't mention your dates but generally across Europe tickets are available from 92 days out so if you book early then the train is the way to go!
|
Right NOW you can get a one-way flight which takes 1.5 hours from Munich to Copenhagen for about $150 on SAS.

In each case, I would love to "book early" but currently I don't even know if I can leave my internship for 5 days to do this. So I can't book it now as much as I would like to!

Then you will most probably be out of luck to get either a cheap flight or a cheap train fare. But it does not hurt to save the aforementioned websites and try again when you know your possible travel dates.

I got the OK to go go to Sweden and decided to purchase an airline ticket. I still need to get to Munich Airport from Ofterschwang. Looking at the bahn website, it appears I have about 5 choices in Ofterschwang, can anyone assist with this?
|
Oops, it looks like Sonthofen, not Oferschwang!
|
Ok, so trying again...Can I purchase a ticket from Sonthofen to Munich Airport. Or do I travel to Munich and then the airport?
