Train using hotellink,ltd.
Has anyone used the train service from Gatwick to Victoria with hotellink, ltd?
Any info about this company is appreciated. Thanks. |
Hotelink (one L ) is a door-to-door car/van shuttle service from airport to hotel. Don't know about a "hotellink" with 2 Ls.
There are two companies that run trains between Gatwick and Victoria - Gatwick Express and Southern. No one else run another train service. |
Actually - Hotelink from Gatwick IS combined w/ a train ride. You take the train to Victoria and the are met by a Hotelink coach.
I personally wouldn't bother w/ it though. You would have to sit on teh coach as it went from hotel to hotel. Now, if your hotel was the first on teh list - fine. But if it was last, then you wander around London while everyone else gets dropped off. Just take the train independently - and then depending on your hotel - a bus, the tube or a taxi from Victoria. |

Whilst I agree with the first bit, whether going to to Victoria is the best thing is another question. If you know the address (or in some cases the name) of where you are staying then use the journeyplanner on www.tfl.gov.uk to work out the best public transport route. |
"<i>whether going to to Victoria is the best thing is another question.</i>" That's true - I was sort of using "Victoria" as shorthand for a generic station in London. Once we know the address of your hotel -- THEN we can tell you if you should take the train from LGW to Victoria or to a different station.

We are staying at the Hilton Green Park

then for you its a no brainer. Take the train to Victoria and then either the tube one stop to Green Park, or take a taxi - it will be a short cab ride.

Thanks for the help. Looking forward to visiting this wonderful city again.
