Train trip from Black Forrest to Cinque Terre or Venice

By daughter (17 year old) and I will be in Titsee, Germany and we need to get to Italy (either the Cinque Terre or Venice). Any suggestions as to the best route? Would there be more for a teen in Cinque Terre or Venice?

Are you driving?
What time of year?
Neither will be easy!

Venice is magical!

The CT is almost 11 hours with either 3 or 4 train changes.
Does that change your mind?

Bob, we are going on June 13th. I have been looking at the various schedules and I find it confusing. My daughter thought the Cinque Terre looked great, but if it will take that long, we'll skip it. We need to be in Rome on June 16, so we have a few days to explore.

Neckervd,

That's a much better plan than I had been able to come up with. Thanks!

Venice is feasible.
