train travel cost?

I am shocked at the difference in price of the Eurostar from Paris to LOndon within the last 3 years. Is anyone else as stunned as I or has it always been over $ 275.00 dollars per person and I just don't remember?

Hi g,

You can go for as little as $90 on a one-day RT 2cl ticket.

see www.raileurope.com and www.eurostar.com

They are priced like airline tickets. If you book a return ticket weeks in advance and can be flexible about departure times, there are reasonable fares; if you turn up at the station and ask for a ticket on the next train, you'll pay a fortune.

Ira,

dumb question. if i am only going one way from paris to london on eurostar and i book a roundtrip ticket to get the better price... and their requirements are round trip... will they charge me the difference later???
thanks for all your help.

Hi goldee,

Buy your round trip ticket. Go to London. Keep the ticket as a souvenir.

Your question isn't as bad as the person who wanted to use only the return part of an airline ticket.
