You will need to take the London underground to a main line station (I think Waterloo or Victoria), then catch a train to Windsor. I am not sure if Hampton Court is on the same line as Windsor??
Other people will be able to answer that question - but as I said you need to go the underground to Waterloo/Victoria. Mark |
ONE way of taking the train to Windsor would be to take it from Paddington station and you have to change (very easily done) at Slough.
The other way is to tarvel to Windsor/Eton directly from London Waterloo. |
Thistle Marble Arch is closest to Marble Arch Tube (a short walk from Bond St Tube).
It is also fairly close to both Paddington Station and Victoria Station. I think that you can take a train from Paddington and change at Slough to get to Eton / Windsor. Not expensive but do allow an hour or more from memory. I think that there is also a way to get there via Picaddily line then getting a bus from somewhere out near Heathrow. |
Hi
Trains Windsor has excellent rail connections, and boasts two stations, both centrally-located and recently renovated. Up-to-date train timetables can be found on Railtrack's website. Windsor Central Station is located just opposite the Castle. Trains from this station connect with the mainline station at Slough, a few minutes journey. At Slough you can change for London Paddington or the west coast mainline. This is the fastest way to get from Windsor to London, although you will need to take a short underground journey from Paddington if you are travelling on into central London. It is also the route to Oxford, Henley-on-Thames and Stratford-upon-Avon. Windsor and Eton Riverside Station is located at the bottom of the hill below the castle, a few minutes walk. Trains from this station link directly with London Waterloo, a journey of approximately 55 minutes. Eurostar services from Paris, Brussels and Lille arrive and depart from Waterloo. I have taken this information from http://www.royal-windsor.com/ which seems to have loads of info on Windosr |
Hampton court trains:
By train South West Trains run services direct from London Waterloo to Hampton Court. The journey takes only 35 minutes and the palace is a 2-minute walk across the bridge from the station. The train service passes through Wimbledon station, where the London Underground District Line begins. Hampton Court is in Travel Zone 6 and train time are as follows: Waterloo to Hampton Court Monday-Saturday - xx06 and xx36 Sunday - xx27 and xx57 Hampton Court to Waterloo Monday-Saturday - xx24 and xx54 Sunday - xx05 and xx35 Look at http://www.historicroyalpalaces.org/...mpton_home.asp for more info.
