Train Transfer Question in Madrid Atocha Station

If we take the AVE on a Tues morn, from Sevilla to Madrid, which has an arrival time of 9:55 am, will we have enough time to catch the 10:20 am AVANT train to Toledo?

You should have no trouble at all since the AVE services are usually very prompt and refunds are given if they are late more than so many minutes.

Atocha is easy to navigate.

I am agree with Dukey you should have plenty of time. There are many trains to Toledo from Atocha.

With only 25 minutes between the scheduled arrival from Sevilla and the 10:20 departure, it will be very difficult to make you connection. They often close the gate to the Toledo train several minutes prior to departure and once the gate is closed you cannot board the train.

It also looks like you may have to pass through security when moving from the AVE platform to the Avant platform. Depending on the crowd, there may be a long line.

I would book a later train to Toledo.

we found Atocha easy to navigate but without luggage.
It is true - there are many trains to Toledo - AVE takes 30 minutes ( book ahead)
If you miss the train and have to spend some time at Atocha - don't worry,it is one of the nicest train stations I have seen !
