Deutsche Bahn just announced that they will stop the whole train traffic within the next hrs.
Austria: Arlberg line Zurich - Innsbruck closed
Switzerland: no trains to Zermatt, Jungfraujoch, Leysin, Les Diablerets, Arosa, Oberalp Pass (Glacier Express),

Severe disruptions today in The Netherlands and Belgium too - also for air traffic. The storm has died down now here.
It's the second severe storm this year already.

For people wondering 'what the weather will be like in winter in Europe'; this was really extreme, with winds of up to 140 km/hour.
People were being blown off their feet and literally rolling across the street. 3 people dead in The Netherlands, 1 in Belgium so far.
We had a bad storm last week too, and in the middle of December everything ground to a halt after a snowstorm.
Not what we usually get in winter here. We may get snow again this weekend.

AFAIK Schiphol is open again.
We had winds up to 200 km/h at Pilatus (Lucerne) and Saentis (Appenzell) today. The cablecars don't run for the moment.
On the Jura heights (Chasseral, Chasseron, Vue des Alpes), winds blew at speeds of 170 km/h "only".

I would be disturbed if I was traffic in those countries too.

wow, that is windy. I wouldn't expect someone to be blown off their feet at 140 km at the peak, though. Maybe if you were very small or frail, I could see it. I've only stayed inside when it was close to that.
