xyz123 - No, if you choose US as your country, you still remain in the eurostar.com official site. Same format, same everthing, except the prices are in US$ and also very different fares.

..okay then that's a change...several years ago this is what happened to me...but I still would check Rail Europe...also I wonder what kind of exchange rate they use if they charge you in USD...do they do a dcc thing?

Eurostar prices are nothing to do with DCC. In fact US booked tickets can be a lot cheaper than UK booked tickets.

The cheapest UK ticket for an adult is £59 return (£154.50 one way - yes nearly £100 MORE) whereas the cheapest US ticket is $67 single & $72 return.

You can also book up to 9 months in advance with US bookings whereas it's 5 months with UK bookings

$50 is not a reasonable fare for that kind of trip. I don;t know if you've ever taken the train in the US - but you can;t get from NYC to Washington for $50 either. It just costs more than that. That's like asking for a $19 a day rental car.

$300 sounds too high. but you've been given much better options - and need to take into account the low value of the US dollar. If 59 pounds equalled 59 US$ that would be great - but it doesn't - 59 pounds equals $120 plus US - something over which none of us have any control.

Another problem might be your date in Sept! World Cup rugby will be on in Paris ..there's even a warning on the raileurope site to that effect!
