Train to Florence from Venice
can someone tell me if one has to take more than one train to get to Florence from Venice ? I was looking at eurorail.com and looks like you have to take 2 trains. I was hoping to just sit back and be done with moving until I got to Florence.

Well you posted this on the US forum, and I answered it without even realizing we weren't on the Europe forum.
But here is my same answer again: There are many daily trains from Venice to Florence with no changing. The confusion may come from whether you start at the Venice Santa Lucia station (by the Grand Canal) or the Mestre station. Some will go straight through to Florence from Santa Lucia, others you will need to change at Mestre |
trenitalia.com is the website for Italy's national rail system.
Firenze to Venezia can easily be done on a single train, either IC or Eurostar. |
Or vice versa....
