train to Chipping Campden
We are going from London to Chipping Campden, can some tell me what train company runs that line.
|
Great Western run from Paddington to Moreton in Marsh and Honeybourne, and Chipping Camden lies between the two, but I am afraid has no station. You could take the train to Moreton in Marsh, and carry on by taxi.

As Ben says - there is no train service to Chipping Campden. CC is about 6 miles from Moreton-in-Marsh and a little farther from Honeybourne. So a taxi would be the best way to get there (there is a bus service but it is infrequent).
But once you are in Chipping Campden, how did you plan on getting around? It will be difficult w/o a car - so you might consider taking the train to Oxford or Moreton and renting a car from there. |
There are buses from Moreton-on-Marsh to Chipping Cam and the wait is not very long. It is a rollicking ride through some lovely countryside. Once you get there, there is lots to see as walkers. Easy buses back to Moreton on Marsh. Bus fare was inexpensive.
Go on a Tuesday so you can enjoy the outdoor market at M on M, then hop the bus to CC. |
Great info, RosieM. I for one would like to hear more about using buses as transportation in the Cotswolds and Wiltshire. Are there good bus-dedicated websites? (I've already copied and filed wonderful information for the south from Mr. Haines and another gentleman whose name I can't recall at the moment.) Thanks , J.
