train to CDG & O/N at hotel there?

Hello,
If I take the TGV from Avignon to CDG how close am I the the hotels at CDG?
I'm just wondering if I'll have to take a taxi to the hotel after I get to CDG?

Thanks!

there are some hotels in CDG airport including one right near the TGV station I believe but there is a gaggle of hotels on the periphery of the airport with free shuttle buses or the VAL people mover to reach them - www.accorhotels.com is one chain with several hotels for different budgets around the airport (an area called Roissy).

Here is the map, I don't think there is need for taxi. We stayed in IBIS; it can be reached by airport shuttle from TGV http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/R...massecdg_g.jpg

Most shuttles leave from atop Terminal 2 where the SNCF station is.
The airport link provided by hkto can also show the hotels attached to various terminal buildings.

Noe that shuttles do not always run on schedule - my French friend recently staying outside the airport at a chain hotel almost missed her flight because the shuttle just seemed to never come - leave earlier than expected even if you are familiar with CDG layout, etc. Maybe better to be in a hotel that you can hop the VAL automated people mover to?

In 2009, before an early flight the next morning, I stayed at the Sheraton at CDG - it's built one of the terminals. No shuttle to worry about. In the morning, check out and walk to your gate (or take the free CDGVAL train to the terminal you need). Pretty stress-free!

Last May I trained from Arles to CDG late in the afternoon and stayed at the CDG Novotel. Worked well, albeit a tad pricey, $300 CAD if I remember correctly.

TAW, have you picked an airport hotel yet? I am interested to hear which one and at what price.

I've seen hotels at CDG as low as $40 with a bid on Priceline. Have never heard of paying as much as above for any of them!!
