train to Baden Baden

We have puchased 2 PREM tickets for 40 euros Paris to Strasbourg. Train tickets for Strasbourg to Baden Baden (no PREM)are 30 euros for a 60km trip! Anyone know what a taxi or bus would cost? Thanks

You have some bad price info or you are paying inflated prices to Raileurope or some other such agency. The official German railways site (www.bahn.de) shows a price of 13 Euros on the direct EC trains, less for the regional trains, for S'bourg to Baden-Baden.

Why dont you rent a car. its only about an hour trip. I bet you can get one cheaper then the two 30e fares.

irish: I'm sorry, but I have no personal experience purchasing online tix on the bahn site; I usually use it just to price legs of my journeys. For me, there doesn't seem to be much purpose to doing so unless I am going to save a gob of cash by purchasing in advance for much longer journeys than the one you have planned.

What I would do is just purchase the S'bourg-to-B-B tickets upon arrival at the Paris train station (or in advance at any station you happen to be near during your stay in Paris.) The price should be about the same. You could purchase them in Strasbourg as well, I suppose, if you are planning a short stopover there.
