Train times/distance?
Does anyone know of a website that would tell you how many hours it would take to travel between destinations? For example, from Amsterdam to Berlin? I can't seem to find this on the train website.

Thanks for you help.

For just a basic idea, look at:
http://www.ricksteves.com/rail/timecostmap.htm
www.bahn.de has detailed info
Dell,

The best one I have ever found is http://mercurio.iet.unipi.it/misc/timetabl.html. It has all timetables for all of Europe, but just use the Swiss SBB, that is the most user friendly. If you have any problems let me know and I would be happy to help.

Greg
For most major routes, www.raileurope.com gives clear concise information. But they do not have good prices for actually buying tickets before you travel to Europe.

Best wishes,

Rex
Dell,

I looked up Ams to Berlin on that Website I suggested and the real answer is that it depends. If you take a NT it would take between 10 - 12 hours and cover many more KM than taking the train during the day. A day trip could take as little as 6 hours, depending on when you traveled. Hope this helps. Happy planning.

Greg
Thank you everyone. I hope to go to Amsterdam again in Feb. Last year we took a quick day trip to Brusells and it was fun. We were there for 6 hours and we got to experience a lot of things, (drink Belgium beer, visit the "Pissing Boy" had some waffles, etc. I'm just wondering what a good day trip would be. Any ideas?

Thanks

I use ViaMichelin. It's great.
