Train Time Schedules in Europe
We have been to Europe once before over 5 years ago. At that time we planned our own trip but we had an agent book our train passes, timetables and flights.
We are finally getting to Europe again in April. We will be going to South of France, Munich and Italy. Can anyone tell me where to look for times for the trains we will be taking from country to country? I know how to book the passes from Eurail, but how do you find the time tables? Thank you for any advice.

Budget Europe Travel Service is the best most informative site I have found. Used it entirly on our five trips (eurorail) through Europe. A Michigan company that started with college backbackers many many years ago.

The timetables can always be checked on Deutsche Bahn site (even if some journeys cannot be booked there)
www.dbahn.de. Note that the next timetable change will be on Dec 10, so anything beyond that will not be reliable/final.
Of course, you can always look within each individual rail administration:
www.voyages-sncf.com (in French)
for travels within France with TGV trains www.idtgv.com
for Italian travels www.trenitalia.com
www.dbahn.de. Note that the next timetable change will be on Dec 10, so anything beyond that will not be reliable/final.

All of the French trains are listed on www.voyages-scnf.com which as noted above is only available in French. However, I have never found a train there that wasn´t also listed here in English: www.tgv-europe.com

Hi L,
You do not want railpasses. They will cost you much more than buying point-to-point from the national rail sites,
www.voyages-sncf.com for France
www.bahn.de for Germany
www.trenitalia.com for Italy.
wwww.bahn.de is very good for schedules.
Enjoy your visit.
