IMO if there are webfares already posted for that same date on other trains.. then there are no more webfares ( or perhaps never were) for the particular train you want.
i was told by renfe on the phone that the important fact is to know when they load them onto the website which is not necessarily 60 days in advance. one can buy tickets 60 days in advance, but the special internet fares are not always loaded that early, according to them the other day. not ALL trains will have web or estrella fares.. |
Hi GypsyHeart,
I spent Sunday trying to get tickets on the Madrid/Sevilla AVE at 1100 62 days out. I was trying for 6 tickets with web fare sign present & was able to go all the way through with the drop down menu, putting in my credit card etc, & THEN it said there were not enough seats at that fare. I tried different times, etc (having to put in all info every time). Finally, I requested 3 web fares & got them. Site then went down & stayed down for a while. When it came back up, web fare for that time was gone & I got 3 estrella fares instead. On Segovia/Madrid line, I was able to get 6 web fares at once. Good luck! (& keep trying). |
These trains are driving me crazy. I was waiting with fingers crossed for WEB fares for my March 28 train Madrid to Seville.
They never appeared so I decided to just buy the Estrella fares. I can see the star icon by the fares but Estrella is not on the drop down menu. I know I am looking in the right place because I found the Web and Estrella fares for my Seville to Cordoba trip. Anyone know what's up? |
Ok, even I am sick of this topic.
I found the Estrella fares on the date I want. I checked every hour and they magically appeared. But now I have to fill out all the credit card info in Spanish. What is: Correo Electronico Apellido Tipo de Documento Numero Documento (I guess 'document number' but what document are they talking about?) Doreccopm Codigo Postal Poblacion Provincia Pais (Country, that one I know) Numero de Tarjeta (credit card number?) Fecha de Caducidad Titular do la Tarjeta Help, por favor. Gracia. |
I found this info from another Fodor's poster a few days ago. Scroll to "How to use the Spanish Railways website" on this website: http://www.seat61.com/Europe-train-tickets.htm#Spain
The information about how to use the renfe site is near the bottom. Good luck! I have had issues on this site myself! |
Correo Electronico--email address
Apellido ---last name Tipo de Documento- type of document Numero Documento (I guess 'document number' but what document are they talking about?) ----the one you use for ID which should be passport Doreccopm-- no idea!! sorry! Codigo Postal-- zip code Poblacion--town Provincia- state Pais (Country, that one I know) Numero de Tarjeta (credit card number?)--yes Fecha de Caducidad. --expiration date Titular do la Tarjeta-- holder of the card .. name as it appears on card |
I think with "Doreccopm" Gypsy means "dirección" = address :)
|
wow kenderina.. good going. never stopped to think it was a triple typo.
|
Thanks, guys. You all rock!
|
Lin, this is because you don't have friends that write emails to you like if you were an expert in deciphering Egyptian papyrus LOL
|
kende.. u coming down for fallas?
if you come on the bus, i can collect you and DRIVE you to a couple.. what do you say? |
mmmmmmmmmmmm, Lin, with such an offer I sure will think about it !!
For St. Patrick's is OK ? :) |
probably o.k.
my mom is leaving that morning. we will keep in touch. the 18th is not good, and the 19th will be a zoo, as you know!! could be fun! if you want to bring a friend.. no problem, but it would be very difficult to get in to the mascletá (no transport allowed) but i can drive you around to a few of the good fallas on the edge of town. (The BIGGEST one is VERY accessible by car.) |
Can you buy ticket from USA on renfe website. Thanks
|
yes
|
It was only a joke because it's my saints day , Lin, maybe 15 or 16 would be better, I'll tell you soon.
Besides, I would love to meet your mom. And I don't want to go to "mascletá", not even if you pay me for going LOL I will be fed up of them by then, Magdalena in Castellon this year begins in February and finish 1st of March. |
<b>HELP!!!</b>
I followed the above instructions to buy an AVE ticket on Renfe website from Sevilla-Cordoba. I received an email, but there's no PDF attachement with it. The email is just a confirmation email with the train info and a "Localizador" #. What did I do wrong, and what do I do now? Do I just bring the email print-out to the station to get an actual ticket? How come I didn't get a pdf attachment for my ticket? |
Also, this ticket I bought is the "estella" discount. Can someone who knows Spanish translate this for me?
Thanks! |
why donīt u put it through a translator first and we can touch it up if you donīt mind.
|
So, it looks like my problem was I had the pop-up blocked when I purchased my ticket. I tried buying a different ticket and I disabled the pop-up blocker and I was able to print out the PDF file.
For those of you who had the PDF ticket, I have a question for you: Does your PDF ticket show the train #, date, route, and seat assignment? Because mine doesn't! Mine only shows the ticket number and a barcode! And BTW, I used the Google translator and it looks like the Estrella fare tickets can be changed (for a fee). |
