Hi Bev,
When you buy online at www.trenitalia.com/en you will get an email confirmation of the transaction. For ES* trains, this is your ticket; good for a reserved seat on a particular train. It doesn't need confirmation. For other trains, you bring your confirmationa and the same credit card to the ticket window, where you get a ticket. This ticket is validated at the yellow box at the head of the track where your train is. There are senior discounts. You have to buy a discount card. It will be useful only if you are doing a lot of traveling. ((I)) |
Can you buy tickets online for international nite trains? For example from Rome to Montreux/Bern. Thanks! SueC1

Hi suec1
>Can you buy tickets online for international nite trains? < Yes >For example from Rome to Montreux/Bern.< Not on Trenitalia. You buy it from the Swiss at http://www.sbb.ch/en/ ((I)) |
Ira,
Thanks for the information. I asked because I HAD gone to Trenitalia and could not seem to be able to purchase it, with a note, "you cannot buy these...." Maybe I did something wrong. I bought my pass and got reservations through Triple A last year and have not yet checked if they will do the individual tickets. |
