Train strike in Italy?

We are in Venice (and it is some story on how we got here, but that will have to wait).

We are scheduled to travel via train to Florence tomorrow and via train from Florence to Rome on Monday, the 22nd. My sister said she readof train strike in Italy set for Monday!

Can anyone verify? and can u recommend alternate mode travel to Rome, if so?

Grazie mille!!!

There is no train strike announced for Monday, October 22. Neither on the Infrastructure Department's Web site nor on the Strike Commission's Web site.

I always used the seekitaly.com website to check on train strikes. Anyone know if that site is gone for good now, or what?

The strike on Monday is for Naples.
If you are going there you can book a strike proof train.
