Train Station Luggage options

We will be traveling in late August for three weeks by rail. A few of the days we want to stop at cities before we reach our hotel. We will have a rolling suitcase (airline approved for carry-on) and a back-pack. Does anyone know if the lockers will fit the roll-on? We are especially interested in Bamberg, Rudesheim, and Munich. Is there a web-site that indicates what each cities arrangements are? Many thanks!

You'll have no problem in Munich, a huge railway station! The lockers rent for $2 Euro and you'll find some by tracks 18, 26 and 31. Your airline sized bag will definitely fit in and you may be able to put 2 bags in one.

4 Euros for some time now.., it`s a rip-off!

Munich also offers a left luggage room. When considering the various prices I would remind you that the alternative to storage would obviously "cost" a lot more in terms of both comfort and convenience so I disagree that it is a "rip-off."

€4 for a very large safe storage unit within steps of your train is a bargain.

In the London stations, left luggage is £5.50 per item per day or about 7.80 euros. The German lockers are a bargain!

It started with 2 Marks, whern the Euro was introduced it suddenly became 2 Euro (100% plus), now it`s 4€. Germany has always has been an "inexpensive" country in Europe. Since the introduction of the € prices have skyrocketed. It`s still less expensive then most places, but when tourists willingly pay 100 Euro for a simple room in Munich, they encourage hotel owners to demand anything. Most tourists here are willing to pay FAR! to much. The locals want to be able to afford a room too, now and then.

Yes 4€ are a bad case of rip-off!!

Thanks for your friendly reply?!!! However, I was told some of the smaller train stations did not have lockers. That was the reason for my follow-up question about especially Rudesheim as it is quite small. Yes, I was serious.

Ruedesheim = yes
Bamberg = yes

"The locals want to be able to afford a room too, now and then...."

Really? Well, have them speak to their countrymen who own those hotels and charge those ridiculous prices and wait for the laughter!
