Train Station Identity & Itinerary
Help!!! I cannot find information in The Trenitalia website that will tell me the full station name ...all stations are abbreviated. I am having difficulty in planning our trip. Does anyone know where or how I can find this information?
Itinerary is as follows (not yet carved in stone).

Malpensa Airport to Stresa 2 nights Bus
Stresa to Milan (see The Last Supper and Duomo) Train
Milan to Florence 3 nights Train
Florence to Assisi 3 nights Train
Rent car 5 days at Foligno ( 4 nights either Pienza or Radda as base)
From Tuscany we will go to the Cinque Terre for 3 nights..where would be our best drop off for rental car? I have never driven in Italy and do not want to drive where there is large city traffic! Train to Levanto
Last night In Lucca..1:30pm rt flight. Should allow us to train to Pisa for flight. Train
Thank you for any helpful information you can provide.

The car rental question: could you clarify? its not your intention to drive the rental to CT, right, so your rental return has to be serviced by train? what are the options your rental company has offered?

Yes, we will need to drop off rental where we can get train to CT. I have yet to make arrangements with car rental co. because I am unsure where our drop off local will be. I am open for suggestions. Thank you.

Hi SH,

>where would be our best drop off for rental car? <

La Spezia would suit you.

>Last night In Lucca..1:30pm rt flight. Should allow us to train to Pisa for flight.<

I make it a point to stay in the town from which I am leaving the night before the flight. What will you do if one of the two trains you will take has trouble?

Enjoy your visit.

Hi Sherry - There is an airport shuttle bus service from Lucca to Pisa airport. You can find details on:

Hope this helps ...
