Train Questions from Paris CDG to Auxerre or Beaune to CDG
I was hoping someone could tell me if there are any tips I should consider in booking my trains in France:
CDG to Auxerre:
Since I arrive at CDG at 7 am I don't want to wait until the train that leaves direct from CDG at 7 pm. Is the best option to take a taxi from CDG to Paris Bercy and then the train from there to Auxerre?
How much might the taxi cost?
Should I absolutely book the train tickets in advance online?
Are there any tricks to getting better rates?
On the return we'll be going from Beaune to Paris via Dijon. Any challenges with transferring in Dijon?
Thanks.

<<Is the best option to take a taxi from CDG to Paris Bercy >>
No
The best option is to take the AF Bus to Gare de Lyon and depart from there.
AF Bus #4
Fare 16.50€
Departures regularly in front of each CDG terminal

Yes

Yes
Book at www.voyages-sncf.com (in French only). Best rates are PREM fares available 90 days in advance of travel and withdrawn approximately 10 days before any departure date.

Small correction:
Three months, not 90 days. If you travel Sept 10 (for example), you can first book a seat on June 9 6:05PM EDT, which is 12:05 AM in France, 92 days before your departure.
The German train schedule site indicates that all the trains for Auxerre leave from Bercy. Is there a train/shuttle from Lyon to Bercy?????

Unfortunately the OP did not specify a date (please tell us the date when you ask a question about train travel) so the date I arbitrarily chose on the SNCF website showed only the early Gare de Lyon departures (which connect through LAROCHE MIGENNES). The next page shows the Bercy departures which are non stop and therefore much faster.
Still, the AF Coach to Gare de Lyon is an option as Bercy is only one stop away on either the RER D or the Métro line 14, direction Olympiades. Bus lines 87 and 24 also connect the two stations.
