Train Pass questions
We will be in Europe for 16 nights, and plan to use trains for Amsterdam-Berlin, Berlin-Prague, Prague-Vienna, all one way, and London-Oxford return.
Looking on Eurail. We can purchase the Eurail Global Pass Promo Senior 4 days within one month. This is for 1st class $606. How do I get seat reservations? What are the downsides to this pass vs booking the 4 legs individually? Thanks, barb |
have you read seta61.com? Does he recommend the Eurail thing?
It just seems like a lot of dosh |
A single to Berlin from Amsterdam is between €39 and €60-ish depending on the train you get and how far out you book it.
You can no doubt find the other fares on the DB site and by searching for the UK train prices, and do the sums. That seems like an awful lot of money for the pass. Does it also cover Rail travel in the UK? |
Rail passes offer convenience, but you pay for that convenience compared to buying point to point tickets.
