Train Paris to Amiens

Is it necessary to pre-book a train from Paris to Amiens, or are tickets likely to be available on a walk-up basis?

Friends are looking at catching the 7:28 train from Gare du Nord; I can see on the sncf website that there are prems fares available, but am not sure whether a reservation is essential - there doesn't seem to be a huge difference between prems and ordinary fares on this particular journey.

Many thanks, Di

If you buy that ticket in advance the fare is as low as 10€ one way. If you buy last minute before you depart the one way journey is 21.60€. I wouldn't worry about tickets selling out on that journey so if your friends don't mind paying a bit extra they can buy them last minute.
