train or car to florence
I am staying at a villa in Castellino. We have two cars and we want to day trip to Florence. I know, thru this web site not to drive in Florence, but am wondering if it will be easier to park car in Siena and take a train to Florence or drive to and park outside Florence.

Hi Savi - There is a bus service into Florence from the Castellina area if you don't want to drive.
http://www.acvbus.it/orari/365.pdf Alternatively you could drive to Poggibonsi rather than Siena - and train from there. Hope this helps ... Steve |
Steve thanks for the suggestion. We will definitely look into the train from Poggibonsi.

Driving into Siena is no picnic as well.
Agree with Steve's advice. |
I suggest to you to drive to Florence and park your car at Galluzzo (in befor Florence arriving from the highway Firenze Siena)and then take the bus
have a nice trip www.hotelsempione.info www.apmhotels.com |
Park on the outskirts of Florence and ride the city bus in. Check out the City Transportation (ATAF) site http://www.ataf.net/Default.aspx?LN=en-US.
The train from Siena is a bad idea. It doesn't go directly to Florence. |
