Train or bus?

Which would be better the train or bus?

Madrid to Toledo
Madrid to Segovia
Cordoba to Sevilla
Sevilla to Ronda
Ronda to Granada

I cannot find any trains from Madrid to Toledo on Renfe.

Madrid to Toledo
Madrid to Segovia

Train for both. Not sure why you can't find trains between Madrid to Toledo. Are you choosing the correct station in Madrid (Atocha)? There are about 10 trains/day.

Cordoba to Sevilla
Either bus or train is fine. Duration is the same. I took the bus because there are more runs by bus than by train, and the bus timetable suited me better.

I see plenty of Madrid-Toledo trains too.

I always take a train in preference to a bus unless the train is much slower or running at an inconvenient time - you can get up and walk around, you can keep an eye on your luggage, you can go to the toilet, there's often a snack or restaurant car....

From what I've read here over the years, sometimes Renfe doesn't load the train schedules too far in advance, esp if there is an expected schedule change (say, from Summer schedule to Fall schedule). Perhaps that's why there are no trains displayed right now. My suggestion would be: just keep rechecking Renfe website every few days.

Regarding Sevilla to Cordoba, it would have to be a very fast bus to beat the high speed Ave train. I don't know if I'd feel safe in a bus going 120 miles/hour! (The Ave takes 45 minutes from Sevilla to Cordoba and it is about 90 miles and runs almost every hour). Of course, the high speed train is more expensive than a bus.

Madrid to Toledo - high speed train is best

Madrid to Segovia - high speed train is best (but station located outside of town center)

Cordoba to Sevilla - Ave train is quickest and best

Sevilla to Ronda - bus (no direct train service between these 2 cities)

Ronda to Granada - 3 trains/day approx 2.5 hours - this train is a Regionale so it won't have a dining car, just very basic

The high speed trains can be expensive but if you book in advance on the web you can get some very good fares.
