Train help! Brussels to Aachen, Germany

Hi,
We would like to take a train from Brussels to Aachen, Germany. Can anyone help me with this? Which train do we take? Any websites would be helpful!

We would also like to pick up a rental car in Aachen, then make our way to Munich where we will drop the car off. Can anyone suggest a rental car company? Thanks!!!

Katie,

I would use the German rail website, which will work for most countries in Europe. Here is the website: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en. According to it, the train can take anywhere from 2 hours to 3 hours, depending on what type of train you use.

For rental cars, I always use autoeurope.com. They will match any lower rates, and their customer service is astounding.

Good luck!

I agree with autoeurope.com. Good prices, great service.
For trains, I recommend you go with budgeteurope.com or euraide.com. With either one, you pay face value plus a small S&H fee to get paper tickets in hand before you leave home. Best of all, they each have 800 numbers you can call and discuss options with people who really know their stuff. For me, using the internet sites on my own was too time-consuming and fraught with error!

there are frequent trains to Aachen. You can take either a Thalys, ICE train or regular train. The regular train is probably the cheapest and you can buy a ticket the same day, so the regular trains are also the most flexible. It's not the most scenic ride in Europe, but it's ok.
We usually rented from Avis in Aachen and got good rates from them with no fee for drop off elsewhere in Germany, but try the others too.
