Train help...
Can anyone tell me which train to take from Rome to Florence. I will be arriving at the Rome airport in the am and have to be to Florence by 2 pm...what is the fastest train and can you catch it near the airport?
How long does the fast train take and how do you get tickets? |

The length of the journey from Roma to Firenze varies based on which train you take. The fastest connections take about 1 hour and 36 minutes.
There is a departure from the main station in Rome (Roma) for Firenze at 11:30 that gets you there at 13:06. There is also one at 10:55 that takes the same length of time. After 11:30, the next departure is not until 12:30. I suggest you pray that your flight is on time and you can take a taxi right away after you clear passport control and customs. (Assuming yur are arriving from the US.) You can buy your tickets at the station. Perhaps someone knows how to order from the Italian train web site. I get my information from http://www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html But there are several rail web sites in Europe that will give you the information. Another site is the Deutsche Bahn http://bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/en And a third is the Swiss site at www.sbb.ch There are trains all day long. |
You might get more responses if the title was more descriptive of what you really want.
I think the more veteran posters, who would be your best sources of information, would not even click on the title. You can, however, answer all of your questions by visiting the Trentalia website which is listed above. |
Hi IT,
Train schedules, prices and tickets are at www.trenitalia.com The Leonardo da Vinci Express leaves Aeroporto Fiumicino for Rome TE at :05 and :35 and takes 0:30 hr. 10E The 12:30 ES* arrives at 14:06 If you are schedule to arrive about 08:30, you stand a very good chance of making the 11:30 ES*, if you don't have checked baggage.
