train from Venice to Vienna
I am thinking of taking the overnight train from Venice to Vienna, has anyone done this before? are there showers on the train?

You may want to check the Trenitalia web site for info on trains with showers. Their website is trenitalia.it.
I know they have a page that talks about the services they have on board. I have not taken the train from Venice to Vienna, but did take it from Venice to Salzburg. We did it during the day. It was a really nice ride since we went through the Dolomites. |
I found a link to the web site. Looks like the Artesia trains have showers, but they don't seem to go to Austria.

It's best to choose a bunk on the forward side of the compartment. Going thru the alps, my train was constantly panic braking before curves and throwing me forward almost out of my bunk on the other side.
