Train from Split to Zagreb to Budapest
Has anyone taken this train overnight? Is there a cafe car or dining room? Is it a pleasant experience?
Many thanks, Joy |
In the sleeping-car, the Plit-Zagreb sleeper train is great. See the photos on www.seat61.com/Croatia.htm. But it's a night train, you sleep in your sleeper, no all-night restaurant or disco car or anything like that! Fares are cheap, just buy a ticket at the station and make a sleeper reservation.
I haven't done Zagreb-Budapest, but it shares part of the route with Zagreb-Vienna which i did last year and was wonderfully scenic. Just buy your ticket at the international ticket office at Zagreb station, full price is only maybe 50 euros tops, and you'll probably get a 30 euro cheap deal if you're lucky. |
I have heard so many times the question, how to get from Budapest to Split or V/V.
The best information I found on this website - http://www.split-croatia-travel-guid...-to-split.html It's clear and informative. |
