Train from Rome Airport Fiumicino To Tuscany

We are flying into Rome before taking the train up to Chiusi in Tuscany. Can anyone tell me if the main train route runs by the airport or whether our only option is to take the Express into Rome city centre and then take another train from there up to Tuscany?

Any ideas?

Thank you

You have to take the Leonardo Express to Roma Termini and then a train to Chiusi.

Bear in mind that it will take a good 15 minutes or more to get from the track where the express comes in to the heads of the other tracks.

If you can, buy the ticket to Chiusi at Fiumicino, where the lines are much shorter.

You can also take a local train from the airport to Rome Tiburtina station (leaves about every 10 minutes and takes 40 minutes - 5E) and then catch a train to Chiusi. Tiburtina seems to have a few more trains to choose from on this route.

There are not more trains from Roma Tiburtina to Chiusi than from Roma Termini.

Some trains from Termini to Chiusi stop at Tiburtina, but many do not.

If you want to save 4.50 Euro, fine. I would not, particularly as Roma Tiburtina has always struck me as a very grungy station.

Also: At Tiburtina, you have to drag your suitcases down and up stairs if you have to change tracks. At Termini, the tracks are all at the same level.
