Train from Prague to Florence
What is the best route to take a train from Prague to Florence. My husband doesn't really want to take an overnight train or fly as he wants to see as much of countryside as possible. I realize it's a very long train trip! Should we go through Munich or is Vienna the better route. Any suggestions would be appreciated! :) We will be in Prague in early October.
Thanks again for all of the great ideas i have gotten from everyone already! Kat |
Wow... I posted this 24 hours ago and still no responses! Have I stumped the Fodorites? :) Or should my post be more general to capture attention?

check www.bahn.de for schedules then take the fastest route with the fewest connections.
It's going to be a 15hr or so train ride with 2 or 3 connections. |
Thank you!

You can easily take a train from Prague to Vienna and I think there are good connections to Venice. Then from Venice to Florence.

You realise you can't do this in one go if you follow your brief?
You're either going to have to travel overnight or break the journey into two, overnighting in Venice, Vienna, Munich or wherever else takes your fancy. I'd have thought the "best" train would be the one that gives you the overnight stop that suits you best. |
