Train from Pisa to Florence
I am flying into Pisa on Ryanair from Dublin in January. I would like to get to Florence the same night that I arrive in Pisa (I will explore Pisa later in my trip). What train or bus should I take to get into Florence? What is the cost? What is the travel time?
Thank you! |
postcards,
If you go back into the Ryanair website (www.ryanair.com), click on "destinations" at the top of the page and then select Pisa you will find details of the shuttle bus service from Pisa's airport to Florence. Looks as though the journey takes 70 minutes & the single fare is 7 euro. Jim |
postcards,
Just realised that it would have been easier to have posted the link! Here it is; http://www2.clearclick.net/coach/boo...d_affiliate=97 Note that although this site is offering you the opportunity to buy the bus ticket in advance online, I'm sure there will be no problem in just buying it on arrival, either in the airport or on the bus itself if that would suit you better. Although I haven't been to Pisa, I have been to other airports with Ryanair and have always found it easy to buy tickets for the connecting bus on arrival. Jim |
Thank you! I was looking into a journey that would have cost about 20 euro, so thank you for the tip!

You can check train schedules on www.trenitalia.com. The fare from Pisa Aeroporto to Firenze seems to be 5.10 euros.

I will arrive in Pisa at 11pm. Is there a bus or train that leaves for Florence that late? Or will I have to stay the night in Pisa? Thank you!
|
Check the schedule on Trenitalia.com. It looks like the last regular train leaves a little after 10:00 PM but on some dates there may be another which leaves a bit after midnight; otherwise it looks as if the first train leaves a little after 6:00 AM.
You might be better off taking the RyanAir bus. |
Ryanair bus?
|
The company that provides the shuttle bus is Terravision and the busses are scheduled to depart soon after the flights arrive. The Ryanair flight from Dublin arrives 10:15 and the bus departs at 10:35. www.terravision.it
If that doesn't work, take the train from the airport to Pisa Centrale station which is a 5 minute ride. The Trenitalia website (Italian trains website)is showing you can book a bus through them at 00:49 to Florence. www.trenitalia.com |
Thank you very much!

FYI to all:
Much to my pleasant suprise, on Ryanair they sell the bus tickets to Florence right on the plane and the bus waits for the travelers. This makes it VERY, VERY easy to get from Pisa to Florence! The trip took about 70 minutes. I thank you all for your help! |
Thanks for posting back with this information, postcards - someone is bound to find it helpful.
