Train from Paris to Villefranche Sur Mer

Hi--I think this is an easy question but I am clueless. Am planning trip to Paris but really want to visit Villefranche sur Mer. I DO NOT want to rent a car. I am guessing there must be a train going to the Riveria, can someone tell me how to get there?

Also, any suggestions on places to stay, I can imagine this area is pricey beyond belief, would just be staying overnight.

Thanks so much!

TGVs go from Paris to Nice in under six hours. Local trains take six or seven minutes from Nice to Villefranche. The easiest place to check schedules is www.bahn.de. For fares and TGV bookings, you need the SNCF website.

There is also a direct night train from Paris to Nice. Saves you the cost of a night in a hotel and gives you more daylight hours for on-your-feet sightseeing.

Or you could do a quick inexpensive flight.

Unfortunately, the night train from Paris to Nice now has only couchettes and reclining seats. The only trains in France with sleeping cars are international services.
