Train from Paris to Seville

What would be the best train to take from Paris to Seville? My husband wants to see the country.

The quickest route would be by sleeper from Paris to Madrid, then by AVE high-speed train to Sevilla, but then you wouldn't see much scenery. By day trains, it's about five hours from Paris to Irun on the Spanish border, then seven hours to Madrid, then two and a half to Sevilla. The journey therefore isn't possible in one day, so it's just a matter of deciding where you want to stop overnight. San Sebastian, just beyond Irun, would be a good choice. You can check schedules and fares on www.sncf.fr and www.renfe.es, and all schedules are on www.bahn.de.

Geoff,

Thanks for the reply. That is what I was looking for. Personally, I would rather fly direct to Madrid. Maybe I can convince my husband of that since the day train may take us several extra days.
