Train from Paris to Barcelona

Hi all,
Can someone suggest the best way to get from Paris to Barcelona by train? We looked at a couple of websites, but the prices are pretty high. Is there another option that may not be as obvious?
Thanks for your help.

The only through train from Paris to Barcelona is the overnight sleeper train; the fare depends on the type of sleeping accommodation.
There is an alternative night train from Paris to Port Bou, the first station in Spain from where you can get a cheap regional train on to Barcelona.
By day, the easiest connection is by TGV to Montpellier, then by Talgo train. These are high-speed trains with higher fares. There should be other trains to Port Bou, where you can get a cheap train to Barcelona.
For fares, use the SNCF and RENFE websites.

Hi A,

Did you use www.voyages-sncf.com?

Also try www.whichbudget.com for airfare.

Easyjet flies from Paris-Orly to Barcelona. IIRC, it wasn't much more than the train (something like 30 euros) and much, much quicker.

The Elipsos hotel trains can sometimes have greatly discounted online prices sometimes, especially on Sats nights i think

Elipsos Internacional Renfe Trenhotel- [ Translate this page ]www.elipsos.com/htm/intro.htm

and like Ira said www.voyages-sncf.com
