Train from Nice to Pisa to Florence - luggage storage
Hi all, My wife and I will be taking a train from Nice, France to Florence. The train will make a stop in Pisa. So we wanted to get off and spend some time touring Pisa before hopping back on the train and continuing on to Florence all in one day. Is there any lockers or anything at the train station where i can store my luggage for a few hours? If so, how big are the lockers and how much does it cost? Thanks all.

Yes, there is left luggage (not lockers) at Pisa Centrale.

The cost is typically the same as at most stations. The hours might vary and Trenitalia only list hours for the main stations. Here are the prices/hours for Florence so expect Pisa prices to be similar.

There are no lockers at Pisa station, but a manned left-luggage counter where you will need your passport or ID document to leave your bags. In Italian, it's Deposito Bagagli, I think. I can't remember the cost.

If you have a train ticket with a reserved seat through to Florence, that ticket won't work when you want to board the train again in Pisa.
But I'm not sure how you do this. Estimate how long you want in Pisa and buy 2 tickets, one Nice to Pisa, another Pisa to Florence? Buy the second ticket when you're ready to leave? Also I vaguely remember you now need to change trains at the Italian border. Others will be able to help you with these questions.

Train tickets for Pisa/Florence do not need to be purchased in advance. These are the slow R trains. There are no reserved seats and no discounted tickets. 3-4 trains per hour between Pisa/Florence. Buy your ticket when you are ready to depart Pisa. In Italy, tickets without reserved seats must be validated before boarding.
