Train from Milan to Lugano?

We're flying into the Malpensa Airport near Milan, Italy and need to get from there to Lugano, Switzerland. Is that a train route, or bus route? And how do we get to the station from the airport? I'm trying to find instructions but haven't had any luck yet.

Thanks!!

tsrapp,

There's a direct bus service, train is not a convenient option. Here's a link to the bus schedules:

Hope this helps,

I suggest you take the express bus to Milano Centrale RR station. From there the trains run frequently and, depending on the time of day you leave, the train trip takes anywhere between 55 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.

That suggestion of mine would be as an alternative to the bus service should you need to use it.
