Train from Milan to Aosta

I'm planning on taking the train from Milan to Turin, and then to Aosta since I'll just be off a 24 hour trip from California, and don't trust myself to drive until I've had some rest [I'll rent a car the next day in Aosta to tour the Piedmont]. The train sites show Aosta as being a rail destination, but whenever I try to get information I get the message that you can't make reservations or they are sold out. Does anyone know how often the trains run from Turin to Aosta?

Trains to Aosta are all local (commuter) trains; seat reservations are simply not possible. That's that!!

Hi rexmor,

You can purchase train tickets from Milan to Aosta via Chivasso, or Milan to Turin and Turin to Aosta up to 60 days in advance at www.trenitalia.com.

Hi rexmor, is there any chance you are trying to take this train while the Winter Olympics are going on?
